Exciting Themed Parties

Your Themed Party Done Right – Below is how you can make your themed Party exciting

It’s theme night at the cabana! Okay, just kidding. Theme parties aren’t the cheesy affairs they’re sometimes made out to be. With the right decor, fun games and good food and drink, you can turn any crowd into a happy one. Let’s take a look at some of the best ways to get common-themed parties up and running.

Summer Barbecue Party

This party is best for the host who doesn’t necessarily like playing host, and doesn’t want to spend a lot of money. You can keep guests out of the house (for the most part), and you don’t have to be a whiz in the kitchen.

You can likely even find someone willing to takeover grill duties, so long as you provide the meat and the rolls. Include some corn on the cob and fresh fruit, and maybe ask a guest to bring dessert, and you’re all set.

You can easily use paper plates and utensils (get the recycled kind), so clean-up is a breeze. Games, too, are simple, just set up a couple of popular games that everyone can play, like croquet or bocce ball.

Listen up for the most important rule: Don’t forget to have plenty of ice to keep your beer and wine cool. If you offer a good, wide selection, you really don’t have to worry what else is on the menu!

Cocktail Party

The seasoned host knows this type of party doesn’t have to give you a heart attack. Whip up the appetizers that never fail you (keep it simple and prepare ahead!), and find out if any of your favorite wine merchants offer deals on mixed cases of wine; it’s a fantastic way to serve up a variety for a bargain. Invite guests to tell some of their best ‘I had one too many’ stories and let the laughs roll in.

Birthday Party / Milestone Party

This party is all about the cake and bubbly, so make sure there’s plenty to go around, and that you’ve selected the guest of honour’s favorite.

After that, a thoughtful gift from the crowd is the next best way to host a memorable birthday or milestone party. This can be as simple as a card or poster that everyone signs, and a framed photograph.

Costume Party

Hosting this party is not for the faint of heart, but the reward is huge. As host, you’ve got to have a top-notch outfit. Look to pop culture and what’s trending in news for something that will likely be one-of-a-kind. Or try a ‘creative costume’ or ‘funny costume’ search online, look through real photo albums on sites like Flickr.

Easy-to-eat finger foods are the way to go, because you’ll likely have some guests with elaborate outfits. As for cocktails, you’ll always want to have the standard wine and beer, but go wild with some brightly-colored punch, too. Don’t forget to send the best costume winner home with a bottle of wino!
